The Missing Education and Child Employment Service (MECE)

The Missing Education and Child Employment Service (MECE) encourages members of the public to contact us where it appears that a child or young person may not be receiving a suitable education at school or otherwise. MECE will investigate the circumstances and seek to remove any barriers which are preventing the child or young person from accessing a suitable education. Where schools are concerned about absence levels, they will seek to work with parents/carers to address these concerns and where attendance does not improve, may consider referring the matter to the MECE.
